The German dreams of efficiency and order. Such is our nature. That and of course of work.... But seriously though, we have the same dreams. Start poor or underprivileged and get rich. Only with the slight difference that it's more achievable in many ways in Germany than in the US. Free education and "free" healthcare, if done correctly add much more value to society/industry than they ultimately take away.

American dream? The notion is that the "american dream" is build upon freedom of choice and everything else related to freedom or liberty, giving that very ideal a birthplace and an origin stemming from one country, that branded it as theirs. It was and still is a business in the US. Selling people the idea og liberty and freedom etc. while at the same time exploiting "survival of the fittest" idea to rob them of so much. Forget about fair competition when they give you the opportunity to become something, in reality they don't want you to become something because they hold the power and they don't wanna lose it. But of course when you brainwash people into thinking the opposite you can't really expect them to want anything else. The US is the prime example of a nation that feeds of it's weaker citizens. Civilized? Sure. But beneath all the "liberty and freedom, peace and love" it's the very foundation of human nature, which by the way, is rotten to the core.
