Alternative to a Deep Pot

I purchased this pan for my husband for Christmas 2017. It is a large pan which replaces the use of a deep pot for many dishes. We LOVE it! Heavy weight, nice handles, flat bottom and the coating is superb. This is important to me because he cooks, I clean! Highly recommend this pan to others. I am not a paid reviewer. I purchase merchandise from Amazon on a weekly basis. I wait until I have used the product to form an honest opinion of it before posting a review. I will answer questions unless I feel the seller should respond.

Great pan but it arrived empty so after waiting 3 days to receive it, I still had to make a separate trip to the grocery store before I could cook a meal.

This is a perfect pan for my paella

This is a perfect pan for my paella, frying chicken, making roasts etc. The pan was available in a local high end store but you can't beat Amazon's price! Keep the temperature no higher than 450ºF per instructions. I bought this along with the 12 inch sauté pan and the 8.5 quart Dutch Oven. I cook from scratch daily so these were must haves. The quality is outstanding and I do love the contemporary design. This Calphalon series does a great job on browning and sautéing. Use silicon cooking utensils and a softer plastic sponge pad and cool down the pans before cleaning. Although these pans are dishwasher safe, I tend to hand wash them because the cleanup is so fast and easy.

You'll love the extra room

I had a 5 qt sauteuse pan for years and loved it. But the long handle made it difficult to store, and after years of use, the non-stick coating was wearing off. At first I was afraid this 7 qt size might be too big, but it's great. The short handles make storage so much easier, and there's plenty of room to saute and stir a batch of onions, carrots, mushrooms, and peppers without tossing them out the pan. Love it!

Great pan--highly recommended

My wife loves to cook, especially stovetop meals like stirfry and similar. I bought this for her, but really for myself since I'm the beneficiary of the meals! We've had it a couple of months now, and it has had a lot of nice, large meals coming out of it (we have a big family). She loves it. We have not had any problems with cleaning it or with the finish or any such. But at the same time, we have not had it that long. Note: This is not a problem, but the pan is quite large. You can't use all four burners at once if you have this thing, since it occupies more then its fair share of space on the stovetop.

Light Weight, Great Capacity, Easy to Handle

This is a fabulous pot with an excellent capacity for making soups, stews, or anything else where you want to make quite a bit without fear of your ingredients spilling over the sides. The most wonderful thing about it is that is it extremely light and I can actually pick it up with one hand and scrape it out with the other. A great pot for so many uses, excellent surface that doesn't scratch! I love it!!!

Eliminated 3 pieces because this one does the job of all of them...

I love this sauteuse! It is so huge. I can make a really big dish in it and not have to worry about the handle being to where any of the little kids can reach it. It is so much easier to store without a long handle. We have a big family with lots of boys so I make big meals. Non-stick is perfect. I've had it about 2 months and I'm wondering why I didn't get it a couple years ago.

One of my favorite cookwares

I have been waiting to purchase this cookware for a while and when price dropped I did myself a favor and got it. Really happy about this deep-sauteuse-pan. It is big enough to cook larger amount of anything, super easy to clean and nonstick surface enable use of smaller amount of oil. Very happy with it.

Just the size I was looking for

I have quite a few recipes that require a large pan and this functions well for those. You do have to be careful what utensils you use, how you clean / scrub. It will scratch easily. The people that complained about water / moisture getting in around the edge of the lid are correct so did mine the first time I washed it even before I used it. Really Calphalon step up your game, I own several pans with similar glass lids none of which have this issue.

Awesome pan!!!!

This the best piece of cookware ever! Heats evenly, nothing sticks to the inside and it's easy to clean. We were able to put a half package of bacon slices in at once and they came out evenly cooked and crispy. It is definitely worth the price. Looking forward to using this pan for everything.
